Multi-Language Support

Backstory offers multi-language support, significantly enhancing its ability to understand customer communications across various languages. This feature ensures that when sellers communicate with customers in supported languages — Japanese, Korean, Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian, and German — Backstory can accurately process these emails and meetings. Summaries, Signals, and the Assistant chatbot responses will reflect a comprehensive understanding of these multilingual interactions, incorporating them into revenue stories and insights. This leads to more accurate, complete, and globally relevant intelligence, fostering greater trust and utility across all customer-facing teams, regardless of the language of their customer conversations.

Note: This feature does not translate or localize the Backstory application interface, the chatbot interface, or any part of the user experience into other languages. Additionally, this feature is not a tool for sellers to translate their communications in real time. The application and all Backstory outputs remain in English.

The chatbot will continue to interact and respond in English by default, even if it's processing insights derived from non-English communications.

  • Enhanced Comprehension: Backstory can accurately interpret the content, context, key topics, risks, and next steps from interactions in these languages.

  • Incorporation into Insights: This understanding is then used to:

    • Generate more complete and accurate Summaries on Salesforce records or other integrated platforms, presented in English

    • Contribute to Revenue Stories and Signals.

    • Inform the knowledge of the chatbot, allowing it to provide responses (in English) that consider these multilingual communications.

  • Output in English: While Backstory understands these languages, all of its outputs—summaries, the application UI, chatbot interface, and chatbot responses—will remain exclusively in English. For example, while Backstory will understand communication in Japanese, the Backstory summary generated (e.g., on a Salesforce record) will be in English. All Backstory outputs are in English.

Tip: For conversations that include multiple languages, such as switching between German and English in the same email thread, Backstory processes and understands the supported languages it encounters. It will strive to derive a comprehensive understanding from the entire communication context to inform its English summaries and insights.
