Overview
In today's current business landscape, constant and productive communication with customers is crucial to ensuring deals get closed. Backstory is always at the forefront of improving our product to make sure you can achieve the highest deal-closure rate. Because of this we've partnered with Google Meet to summarize meeting insights, evaluate deal risks, and understand account states. This integration allows you to also ingest Google Meet meetings directly into Backstory, regardless of how the meeting invites are sent out (e.g: Slack, email, etc). These new insights allow you to tackle any potential roadblocks before they become a problem.
How it works
Backstory will only ingest the transcripts for meetings when there is at least one internal user with intake turned on. This means that if you do not want meetings to be brought into the application, ensure the desired users belong to a Configuration Profile with intake off. Backstory also only ingests Scheduled meetings, meaning that any meeting that is not saved in a calendar will not be ingested.
Installation and Setup
1. Click Admin Install for the Backstory SalesAI - Google Workspace Marketplace marketplace application.
The current Backstory SalesAI - Google Workspace Marketplace marketplace app can be found here. Please note, you'll need to have G Suite 'Super Administrator' privileges in order to complete the installation.
2. At the information popup click on Continue.
3. Select “Certain groups or organizational units” to limit access only for required user groups. Toggle checkbox about terms and conditions. On this step we require the following permissions:
Read Google Docs documents - as conference transcript is stored as a Document and conference API has document UUID - so we can read only this UUID, and not all possible documents.
Read Google Meet conferences - we read those Meet conferences, where an active backstory user is the creator.
4. Select either required groups or organizational units, and press Finish.
5. Navigate to the Google Meet tab from the Settings menu from the following link and click 'Authorize Google Meet'. A window will appear with instructions to follow to finish enablement of Google Meet.

Things to Consider
Transcript Ingestion: Backstory is now ingesting transcripts from your Google Meet/People.ai integration!
We will only ingest from the date of activation onwards, as we're not currently ingesting historical transcripts
For meetings that haven't passed the sensitivity checks, we will not ingest the summary. (Personal email address or Sensitive content in meeting)
If a user has intake disabled, we will not be processing their transcripts.
