How to Get the Most out of ClosePlan in Engagement Dashboards by Backstory

Love the data ClosePlan Scorecards give you, and want to combine them with the power of Engagement Dashboards? This article will walk you through where to find the data and how to optimize your ClosePlan Scorecard x Engagement Dashboard experience.

If you haven't already, please review the article on how to enable ClosePlan Scorecard data in Engagement Dashboards. You'll need to do that before you can view any of the data shown in this article. If you're unsure whether it has been enabled, please contact your Salesforce administrator for confirmation.

Scorecard Data in Table Metrics

Filtering

Now that we can add Scorecard data to Engagement Dashboards, let's examine how this is achieved within the Tables feature.

When you're adding columns to your Tables, you'll find the Scorecard fields as one of the filter options, as shown below.

Naming Conventions

To find the ClosePlan Scorecard data in the column list, keep an eye out for these naming conventions:

  • Overall Scorecard Score → “Scorecard %”

  • Category Scores → “<Category Name> %”

Feel free to add any columns you like to enhance your Engagement Dashboards.

Cell Drill-in

Included with the ability to view metrics in Tables is the new Cell Drill-in feature, which breaks down the metric values for you.

The drill-in has some specific details that are worth pointing out as well

Note: The links in the Cell Drill-in are only available for Salesforce Lightning users.

  1. This is a link back to your Salesforce to show the sourced ClosePlan Scorecard.

  2. This link directs you to Salesforce, where you can view the Whitespace Map for your Account/Opportunity.

  3. This link directs you to the list of Account Plans in Salesforce, allowing you to quickly change the Primary Account Plan. This is needed because the drill-in can only display one Account Plan per drill-in. You can read more about that here.

  4. This is the date of the last update to the Scorecard.

Accessing Scorecard Data in Boards

Scorecard data is also extremely useful with our Boards feature. Create indicators and visualizations to gain quick insight into how your Accounts and Opportunities are doing! Take a look at an example of what that could look like below:

Building Custom Metrics

While using Engagement Dashboards, you can add, customize, and configure metrics to tell the story you need to tell. You can learn more about metrics in general by reviewing our Metrics documentation.

Now with the ClosePlan Scorecard data available in Tables and Boards, there's also the capability to include the Scorecard data in your Custom Metrics and to combine it with the other fields in any of your Account, Opportunity, or Team dashboards! Some fantastic examples of what that could look like are shown below.
